One way we do that is by tracking the rate of VRE (Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus present in our hospital. By remaining vigilant, we are determined to keep hospital-acquired infections as low as possible.

At Humber River Regional Hospital, we have a team dedicated to Infection Prevention and Control working in partnership with all of our care providers to protect our patients and reduce the spread of hospital-acquired infections like VRE. Keeping you informed on how we are doing in this area is part of our commitment to a being a patient and family centered hospital.
